This collection centres around the much revered and multi-talented George Clinton and the Parliaments.

Formed in 1956 in New Jersey, the Parliaments recorded their first song, “Poor Willie/Party Boys”, for the A.P.T. label. After a move to the Flip label (Patterson, NJ) they released “Lonely Island” b/w “Cry”. During this period, the lineup included George Clinton, Raymond Davis, Calvin Simon, Clarence “Fuzzy” Haskins and Grady Thomas. In 1965, George moonlighted as a producer for Roy Handy and Tamala Lewis for the (Marton label) and the Pets (on Carnival).

A move to Motown resulted only in unreleased demos, but on the positive side it led to the formation of Geo-Si-Mik Productions.
